Jerome Crocco PhD, Chief Technology Officer of Innova Flex Foundry, joined with the company in 2015, and since then has embraced various roles including research, optics, FPGA development, training & introduction of patented AI systems, while acting as Technical Director for R&D, New Product Introduction, and Customer Engagement.
Before this, while his R&D experience spanned several continents, there was a focus on innovative sensor materials and complex systems development. His doctoral research at the Autonomous University of Madrid centered on room temperature spectrometers for high energy imaging systems. It was this key technology which led him to Seoul Korea, where he joined the newly formed core team within Samsung Electronics’ driving the next frontier in Spectral Computer Tomography for photon counting detector development. As a Staff Scientist with the International Nanotechnology Laboratory in Europe, he delved into magneto-resistive sensors used for applications such as NMR and magnetocardiography for mapping the magnetic field produced by a human heart!
Jerome holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Illinois, Chicago, a Masters Degree in Integrated Photonics, and a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the Autonomous University of Madrid. An innovator at heart, he holds several patents for new materials, AI systems, and novel equipment with over 20 technical publications in applied physics.
Away from work, Jerome spends most of his time outdoors with his wife, Marie, and their children, Oliver, and Lucas. They spend their time snowboarding in the winter, hiking in autumn, and kayaking in the spring and summer.
